Electrical Power & Protection
MEAN WELL has introduced a new product in its AC/DC charger range. The PB-230 is a 230 W aluminium enclosed charger with active PFC function. Along with the existing PB series products, users now have a choice of metal case battery chargers from 120-1000 W with diverse charging capacities. Using the standard IEC320-C14 inlet as the input connector, PB-230 series features 90-264 VAC input supply while the active PFC ensures compliance with harmonic requirement per EN61000-3-2. They are suitable for most types, such as lead-acid, Lithium-Mn, Lithium-Fe etc.
PB-230 series possess 3-stage charging curve (constant current, constant voltage and floating) and monitors the battery capacity via the battery voltage. The device can quickly charge the battery when low capacity status is detected, when the charge is replenished, the charger will automatically turn to constant voltage mode and maintain a small charging current to avoid over charging. Other functions include front panel ON/OFF power switch, LED indicator for charging status, remote ON/OFF control, fan speed control and short circuit, over-voltage and over temperature protection.
