Alpret Control Specialists, a division of Grinaker-LTA and part of The Aveng Group of companies, has its sight set on becoming the preferred provider of complete process control solutions in its selected markets. As an enabler for the growth strategy, Aveng agreed to acquire Andersen & Hurley and CMMC to extend the product range and service deliverables of the Alpret, Andersen & Hurley and CMMC conglomerate.
Both Alpret Control Specialists and Andersen & Hurley are business partners of Emerson Process Management. Alpret is a leading South African supplier of process control instrumentation and process system solutions, providing world class products, specialised training, after sales service and technical support while Andersen & Hurley’s product range includes machinery, health monitoring equipment and services.
The acquisition of Andersen & Hurley and CMMC and their integration into the Alpret business will contribute to the company’s vision by:
* Facilitating access to growth markets where Alpret is currently not participating fully. These include the mining and metals, power generation and water and waste water industries.
* Providing access to markets outside the borders of South Africa where Andersen & Hurley has established business relationships and service contracts. (Alpret’s current agreement with Emerson Process Management only includes South Africa.)
* Increasing the combined sales, service and engineering resource pool with qualified, knowledgeable experts who will increase the customer’s value perception and confidence.
The two companies will be going through a planned integration process bringing them together under the Grinaker-LTA Mechanical & Electrical Business Unit. The base will be in Stormill, Johannesburg, the head office of Alpret, under the leadership of Piet Badenhorst (managing director) and Reinhardt Otto (deputy managing director).
