Advantech’s EKI-2541M is designed to convert Ethernet to optical signals for wide bandwidth, EMI immunity and long-distance transmissions. The converter supports MDI/MDIX auto detection, with no need for crossover wires. EKI-2541M has a working temperature range from -10 to 60°C and accepts a wide range of supply voltage from 12 to 48 VDC. It also provides 3000 V DC surge (EFT) protection against over-voltage, making it suitable for harsh operating environments.
Aside from its standard features, the versatile unit also has the LFP (link fault pass-through) feature. By using the internal jumper to enable the LFP function, the EKI-2541M will force the link to shut down when detects that the other link has failed, giving the application software a chance to react to the situation.
