With the PSD-30 series, MEAN WELL has added a new 30 W unit to its DC/DC line that enlarges the offering of its low wattage DC/DC open frame switching power supply products. Accompanying the existing 5 W (PSD-05), 15 W (PSD-15) and 45 W (PSD-45), the PSD series now can fulfil most low power applications. The non-casing design maintains lower cost, suitable for economic installation inside a system enclosure. The miniature design promotes efficient space usage to reduce the volume of the entire system.
PSD-30 possesses up to 83% efficiency and can be used in -20 to 60O°C ambient environments using only free air convection for cooling. Standard features include 1500 VAC input/output isolation, built-in potentiometer for ±10% output voltage adjustment, CE certification and protection for short circuit, overload, over-voltage, and reverse polarity. Suitable applications for these small converters are industrial control, telecommunications and vehicle based backup systems that use batteries as the power source.
