The Leuze Rotoscan RS4 safety laser scanner family allows end users to make use of proven technology in applications where longer operating ranges are critical. These robust laser scanners provide reliability, flexibility and facilitate safe operation in the workplace.
In addition to access protection, the Leuze Rotoscan RS4 is suitable for the monitoring of hazardous areas around both stationary and mobile machinery. The scanner monitors movements, forwards, backwards, fast slow or creeping, and determines where and how the process is to run. The devices offer a protected field operating range of 2-4 metres; the protection zone can be set up as either horizontal or vertical for the same range
The fast set-up of any kind of protective field boundaries, the variable resolution and the ability to individually configure all operating parameters are just a few of the advantages that this scanner offers. The device has three available function packages – basic, extended and motion monitoring – allowing optimum use in diverse applications.
The units are equipped with the intelligent ConfigPlug device plug which guarantees a device swap-out without unnecessary downtime – a major advantage in continuous processes.
The resolution may vary between 30 and 150 mm, and a reference contour monitor provides additional safety. Whether being used for the protection of hands, arms or people, the unit is certified to IEC 61508 SIL 2 and EN ISO 13849-1 Performance Level PL d of Type 3 according to IEC/EN 61496.
