Rising energy costs and environmental concerns are driving the requirement for energy saving products. In response to the trend for low power consumption, MEAN WELL has introduced its new green concept power supply. The ELP-75 is a 75 W AC/DC open frame type switching power supply. Featuring high efficiency, low no-load power consumption and cost effectiveness, these PCB type supplies are designed for direct installation into system chassis that do not require an enclosure. Compared to the first generation of slim PCB type LPS-75 series, the efficiency of ELP-75 has been increased by about 10%, and the no load power consumption to less than 0,5 W.
With up-to-date high efficiency circuit design, ELP-75 series features 90-260 VAC full range input at up to 90% efficiency. Hence, it can be cooled by free air convection from -30 to +70O°C in a closed system. A built-in active PFC function allows the units to fulfil the requirements of EN61000-3-2 for reduced interference by harmonic current. Protection functions include short circuit, overload, and over voltage.
The supplies comply with certificates per UL/CUL/TUV/CB/CE and find application in factory automation and other situations requiring low no load power consumption.
