The Bearing Man Group’s drives facility at Mahogany Ridge, Westmead, KZN, started operations last year. It has now completed numerous high value projects for plants in various sectors, including sugar, mining and general industry. In keeping with the commitment to quality standards, the company’s 24 hour test, refurbishment, manufacturing and repair service is ISO 9001:2008 accredited and adheres to stringent safety standards.
Workshop services encompass the design, assembly and modification of gearboxes up to 10 tons, to suit specific applications. BMG has made a substantial investment in the latest machinery, which includes milling and drilling capabilities, turning capacities to 4 m in length and 700 mm diameter and presses up to 80 tons.
There is also access to laser alignment equipment for complete drive packs. This service ensures proper chain-sprocket interaction defeating system misalignment, a major cause of premature wear. BMG also offers technical guidance regarding the selection of the appropriate gearbox and its correct maintenance procedures, as well as undertaking on-site inspections, trouble shooting and commissioning of installations.
