OMSA restructures for added value

April 2010 News

The OMSA group of companies – OMSA Operational Marketing and OMSA Pewag – known throughout southern Africa for tyre chain protectors, quality industrial valves, lubrication systems and filters, has re-structured its operations to enable the group to offer its customers a more streamlined offering.

From March 2010, OMSA will be operating all sales activities for its commodity and instrumentation ranges from the Fontainebleau offices and all manufacturing and the engineering arms of the group will be situated at the Lynn Road offices in Randburg.

OMSA director, Marco Errath says, “This is an exciting time for OMSA as we build upon our industrial foundations of the past and create a new modern and efficient OMSA. The sales teams based at our Fontainebleau premises will be offering customers a one-stop-shop technology/application solution across the entire range of OMSA product offerings. Our manufacturing and engineering facilities will operate from the Randburg base, which will also house our bulk filtration and greasing solutions and the drawing office team.”

He explains that the company will introduce a South African regional sales manager as well as a Coastal and Africa counterpart, who will assist the group to expand its footprint on the continent. This is in addition to the five specialised product managers who will be the key interface between OMSA and customers.

OMSA has recently secured the distribution rights for a variety of new product ranges. Errath says these will enhance the offering to the customer base, and enable the group to expand its penetration of markets such as water, power generation, general industrial, railways, petrochemicals and mining.

The OMSA Group of companies has an annual turnover of over R150 million.
