The compact new AP04 absolute position indicator from SIKO features a 20 mm hollow shaft size, with optional shaft sizes of 10, 12, 14 and 16 mm also available.
The AP04 has a two-line display for target and current value with high-contrast LCD readability. A target value can be programmed via an integrated bus interface such as RS485 or CANopen. The machine operator can then adjust the spindle so that the current value matches the target value. This ensures fast, accurate axis positioning even with manual operation.
The controller is always able to monitor the current value of single position indicators in the bus system. There is no need for referencing when the supply voltage is switched on, as the integrated position sensor provides an absolute evaluation of the rotation. A high degree of programmable flexibility is offered with the indicator, eg, spindle pitch, comma position, sense of rotation and 180° display rotation. The position indicator type AP04 is ideal for applications requiring quick, error-free positioning of machine axes even in restricted space conditions.
