Gemü Africa is expanding

March 2010 News

Gemü Valves Africa, the South African operation of German-based Gemü, has moved to larger premises at Northlands Business Park, North Riding, Johannesburg. Keith Hedges, Gemü Africa branch manager says, “Gemü Africa opened its doors in 2008 with four staff members, and now we have grown to 11. The increase in orders and contracts has resulted in the need for us to increase our stock holding and staff complement, hence the need for larger offices and warehousing space.

“We now have numerous administrative personnel, external sales engineers supported by internal sales personnel, as well as a technical assistant and business development manager to ensure that the company continues expanding its footprint, not only in South Africa but into sub-Saharan Africa as well. Our stockholding is at R5 million and we anticipate to maintain our current annual growth of 10-15% per annum. We operate and maintain our stockholding and sales management initiatives via the PSI Penta System, which allows us access to global Gemü operations. An efficient stock management system is the key to Gemü being able to pass on cost-efficiencies to current and future customers.”

All valves are supplied with a standard 12 month warranty and accessories such as solenoid valves, electrical position indicators and fieldbus systems ensure a turnkey solution can be offered. Pneumatic, electric or manual actuators are available, with gearbox actuators for higher torque requirements. The company supplements its products and accessories with technical support and strives to be available 24/7 to meet customer needs.

Gemü Africa offers on-site solutions, advice and recommendations as well as application trials from its Unit 379, Northlands Business Park, Newmarket Road, Hoogland Ext 45, North Riding premises. The company also has distributorships in Port Elizabeth, East London and KwaZulu-Natal.
