February 2010Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration
Comtest has introduced Fluke’s newest addition to its 77x line of process clamp meters, the 772 and 773 milliamp meters with advanced features. These clamp meters enable technicians to measure 4–20 mA signals without breaking the loop, find defective 4–20 mA signals and troubleshoot with mA source/simulate. Fluke’s 773 enables technicians to find bad mA loops, troubleshoot with mA source/simulate, DCV source and advanced diagnostic features.
Fluke’s 772 features:
* mA measure in circuit that verifies errors in mA signals using in-line measurements.
* Loop power that enables technicians to power a transmitter and measure mA signal. Substitution testing of installed 24 V loop power supply.
* mA source/simulate that allows technicians to test suspected bad 4–20 mA automation and control I/O signals for troubleshooting.
Fluke’s 773 features:
* DCV measurement that enables technicians to test suspect 24 V loop power supplies, verify 1–5 V and 0–10 V automation signals.
* DCV source enables technicians to source 1–5 V and 0–10 V signals to test suspected I/O, chart recorders and other voltage input devices.
* mA scaled output that enables technicians to log non-contact measured mA signals with a separate logging tool such as a 289 DMM or DPC.
* mA in/out that makes it easy to source 4–20 mA signals and simultaneously measure 4-20 mA positioning output signals.
