Operation under extreme conditions is the strength of the new MAGRES hermetic absolute encoders. They provide permanent IP68 and 69K protection class and offer high levels of shock and vibration resistance. Thanks to their stainless steel housings, they are particularly well suited for applications involving harsh media such as cleaning agents, acids, bases and sea-water. Compliance with the protection classes is achieved by the hermetically sealed encapsulation of all electronic components.
MAGRES hermetic easily copes with submersed operation or regular treatment with high pressure cleaners. The encoders are available with all established interfaces such as SSI, CANopen, DeviceNet, Profibus DP and EtherCAT. Their robust bearing design including Simmerring coupled with the impact-resistant seal provide reliable protection against dirt and ageing while offering shock resistance up to 500g and shaft loads up to 280 N. These robust units provide reliability and long service life making them well suited to heavy-duty applications.
