The SEW Eurodrive head office in Johannesburg is sporting an interesting new feature. In conjunction with Wideopen Platform the company has designed and built a fibreglass soccer ball, which has been used to refurbish the steel structure that had been the main feature in the company’s parking area for the last few years.
Wideopen Platform specialises in ground breaking high impact outdoor advertising. “We are used to coming up with unique branding solutions, so we were very pleased to have the opportunity of working with SEW Eurodrive on this project,” comments Mike Rasmussen, production manager of Wideopen Platform. According to Mike this is the first time the company has produced a fibreglass branded soccer ball of this size, and they are very happy with the result.

As SEW Eurodrive is an international business with a presence in 47 countries, the ball displays the well wishes and good luck messages from the Eurodrives around the world. The soccer ball is a unique branding opportunity and shows the company’s commitment and enthusiasm for the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
“We are a German owned company. And with Germany having played host to the World Cup in 2006, they are as excited as we are about South Africa hosting the World Cup in 2010. The company sports soccer fans all around the world, only too eager to send their messages of encouragement for the 2010 soccer tournament” comments Rene Rose, marketing manager, SEW Eurodrive.
“The Confederations Cup was a good test run for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. At SEW Eurodrive, we are very confident that we are going to be a proud host nation to this international event,” concludes Rose.
