The ST6917 Series range of Metrix miniature vibration transmitters provides an economical way of monitoring vibration levels on pumps and motors.
Mounted on the pump bearings these transmitters sense vibration noise caused by damage to the impeller, drive shaft misalignment due to coupling wear, looseness of the pump footing, cavitation and other causes which can result in catastrophic pump bearing failure.
The ST6917 transmits a 4-20 mA, 2 wire output signal proportional to the vibration level, generally in units of velocity. By detecting and monitoring changes in vibration on a continuous basis, receiving instrumentation can be set to give pre-alert, alert or shutdown conditions, preventing serious damage to the pump.
Mounting is via a standard M6 stud onto the bearing housing and electrical connection is via a 2-pin connector for easy installation and removal.
