Reliable flow measurement

November 2009 Flow Measurement & Control

Endress+Hauser has added the new cost-effective Promag 10L/50L to the Proline flowmeter family for reliable flow measurement in water pipelines. Thanks to the lap-joint flange design, the meter can be fitted with precision in any pipeline quickly and safely to save time and money.

With experience of almost 20 years, Endress+Hauser’s Proline family has proved itself in various applications such as:

* Measuring drinking water, service water or waste water.

* Utilisation in plant engineering.

* Monitoring of utilities, eg, cooling or hot water.

The Promag L magmeter measures water flow reliably and with high precision. In water plants, industry and sewage treatment plants, millions of litres of water are pumped and more importantly need to be accurately measured and billed.

The Promag L can be fitted with high precision into the pipeline using two adjustable lap-joint flanges. This process connection design offers a high level of flexibility, ie, the free turning lap-joint flanges simplify positioning in relation to the pipe flanges. This flange design also means a weight reduction of up to 30% depending on flange type and nominal diameter.

The Promag L can be combined with two transmitters: The Promag 10 for basic applications and the Promag 50 for standard applications with enhanced functionality. Depending on the measurement task, device functions can be selected quickly and easily via a function matrix and adjusted to suit the measuring point in question: It also boasts system units, totaliser, flow direction, display functions, inputs/outputs, process parameters as well as diagnostic, monitoring and special functions.

The Promag L measurement system has all the performance capabilities of the Proline flowmeters from Endress+Hauser including long service life and a high level of reliability in operation.
