Hirschmann accreditation for Profitek
November 2009
News
Profitek has received Hirschmann accredited training recognition allowing the company to offer the much sought-after industry training programmes in South Africa. Nico Visser, who recently wrote examinations at Hirschmann’s in Germany achieving an overall pass rate of 94% over the six required trade accreditation exams said: “We are extremely pleased to have received this accolade from Hirschmann. It makes Profitek in South Africa one of only four accredited training centres worldwide. The company is also currently becoming EXSA and SETA approved.”

Profitek is now authorised to run the Hirschmann training and competence programmes from its training centre in Centurion, in which it has invested over R200 000 in state-of-the-art equipment. The Hirschmann courses are widely recognised within the industry and any engineer or technician who successfully completes the programme benefits from the in-depth training and professional recognition it affords them.
Profitek will be running courses in November 2009, with three courses per month being planned for 2010.The courses comprise:
* Technical workshop.
* Product workshop.
* Networking/industrial hi-vision workshop.
Ethernet knowledge is only productive when coupled with knowledge as to how the technology can be utilised effectively by the user. Students who pass the Hirschmann training receive a Hirschmann International Certificate and automatically are listed on the Hirschmann website. Ideal candidates are systems engineers, network designers and support technicians to name a few.
Profitek marketing director, John Mentz said: “Profitek has always been at the forefront of new industrial communications technologies and products so to have recognised training in the form of Hirschmann accreditation is a feather in our cap and will not only add value for our client base, but also for any technical person who wishes to advance their knowledge and professional recognition within the industry.
Mentz concludes that Profitek’s clients benefit from this recognition as they are assured that all Profitek staff are certified to consult, design and project manage any Hirschmann industrial Ethernet network and IW LAN system.
