Artic Driers opens in Cape Town

October 2009 News

Only a few years after moving into larger premises in Johannesburg, Artic Driers has expanded again – this time opening in Cape Town. Allen Cockfield, Artic’s CEO, is confident that the move could not have come at a better time.

“Our manager, Kazen Stehouwer is no stranger to the Cape market nor our products and technology. This means we can now support our Cape-based distributors and clients with sales and aftercare from the Cape instead of Gauteng,” says Cockfield.

The new Cape office also has the latest in air flow measurement equipment allowing Artic to provide on site ‘air-audits’ for its customers. This service provides data on dew point, air flow, pressure, velocities and power consumption all from one easy to read graph.

Following the successful launch of the Air Audit department in Johannesburg in 2009, the service has proved invaluable in compressed air leak detection, helping to identify the percentage of air leaks within an air system and the cost of leaks. The locations of air leaks are found using ultrasonic leak detectors. For clients with a serious need to reduce power consumption and rising power costs, air-audits are an invaluable tool.

Artic Driers International founded in 1991, is a family owned company and has distributed compressed air dryers and filtration products from SPX Dehydration South Korea for over a decade. In this time sales have quadrupled and Artic has continually expanded its service support and structure to match its increasing market share.

Eight countries supply Artic Driers, making it a market innovator with a broad range of air treatment equipment to suit all applications from panel beaters to power stations. Along with dryers and filters, products are also offered for the on site treatment of oily water waste, intelligent condensate drains along with state-of-the-art compressed air instrumentation from CS Instruments. Air system design and installation is also part of Artic’s offering.

“We find that in a time of global downsizing the challenge in marketing our company is fun and exhilarating,” concludes Cockfield.
