News
The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Strategy (AMTS) is a Cabinet-approved national strategy of the Department of Science and Technology, managed by the CSIR. Implementation of the strategy is currently directed towards developing technologies required in strengthening the competitiveness of the South African manufacturing Industry.
In enabling the objectives of the strategy, the AMTS Implementation Unit invests in the development of technology platforms that increase current, and create new, competitive advantages, while strengthening relevant scarce skills and balancing technical knowledge acquired through research projects at academic institutions, along with practical experience to ensure optimum impact on industry.
