Sensors and cord-sets

Sensors & Transducers
ifm electronic has introduced sensors and cord-sets designed and priced for factory automation applications. These products are designed, tested and produced to deliver high performance and value.
The efector-v inductive sensors incorporate extended sensing ranges that enable the sensor to be mounted farther away from a target preventing physical damage. The sensors are available in all standard housing styles that include M8, M12, M18, and M30 tubular housings as well as a standard rectangular housing. Sensors feature 360° LED status indication and are tested to high levels of shock and vibration.
efector-v photoelectric sensors feature a robust metal housing that can retrofit traditional plastic housings. Models include high-precision background suppression sensors that eliminate the need for adjustments as target colours change. Polarised retro-reflective models offer long sensing ranges up to 4 m and incorporate a polarising filter that eliminates false triggers from shiny objects.
efector-v cord-sets have a lock-in-place connection that secures the cordset to a quick disconnect sensor. This prevents the sensor from detaching in high shock and vibration environments. The cord-set’s high flex, halogen-free PUR jacketed cable is rated for over 5-million flex cycles. A special insert design prevents damage to the Viton O-ring from over-tightening.

Sensors & Transducers
Level 9 vehicle intervention for collision avoidance has been mandatory on South African mines since 2022, yet the effective roll-out of proximity detection systems remains slower than expected. This is not due to the technical limitations of integration but to operational readiness on site.
