Temperature Controls
Conventional servo drive installations use a drive unit (motor and gear) with a shaft encoder and a control unit with power supply and motor. A cost-effective alternative is now available locally from Temperature Controls.
The new Baumer Electric MDB sensor integrates the function of the actuator and counter directly into the shaft encoder. The MDB signals are designed so that they can be counted directly through digital inputs by any PLC. This type of control system saves costs, especially in the packaging and printing industry where positioning drives are used in large numbers and where simple positioning drives need a greater control effort.
Baumer's new drive concept reduces the investment costs per positioning drive considerably. Temperature Controls says that the counter, actuator and wiring for the motor can be left out, reducing the total cost of the positioning drive by as much as 36%.
