PCB type LED power supplies

Following the introduction of the aluminium cased CLG family and the fully enclosed plastic PLN, ELN and LP family LED power supplies, MEAN WELL has launched the new open frame type PLP family. Designed for low-cost LED lighting related applications, the PLP series is available in 30 or 60 W switching power supply variants with 90~264 V a.c. universal input range.

Simplified single stage PFC topology allows a high power factor to be achieved economically at efficiencies higher than 85%, allowing operation at full load from -30 to +60°C using only free air convection. Typical applications for these new PCB type LED driver units include small scale moving signs, LED-based decorative lighting, and LED stage lighting equipment which has its own system casing.

Additional features include:

* Built-in active PFC function (power factor > 0,9 for 75% load or higher).

* Comply with EN61000-3-2 Class C.

* Protection: short circuit, overload (constant current limiting) and over voltage.

* Adjustable output current level.

* Low cost and high reliability.
