SE-450 series power supply

Mean Well has announced the introduction of a 450 W general purpose AC/DC enclosed type single output switching power supply for the popular mid-wattage applications. Exclusion of power factor correction from the design maintains the cost at a lower level in order to fulfil the economic requirements for areas where PFC is not required, such as US, China, Taiwan, and south-east Asia. The AC input range is selectable between 115/230 V via the built-in switch.

Using high frequency switching technology, SE-450 achieves efficiencies up to 88% at high power density; the high reliability DC fan allows operation in ambient temperatures up to it 60°C. On the AC input side, SE-450 has built-in inrush current limiting circuitry, while at the DC output a remote sense function compensates the voltage drop associated with long wiring. Protection functions include short-circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature and safety approval per UL and UCL is also available.

Suitable application includes general electronic application, factory automation and the moving sign industry.
