MEAN WELL has announced another breakthrough in technology and introduced the RSP-3000 series 3000 W enclosed type switching power supply with power factor correction (PFC) to meet the growing demand in high wattage applications. Featuring high power density, RSP-3000 series can provide full output power up to 50°C ambient. Using the innovative trim function, output voltage can be adjusted from 20-110% rated voltage by adding 1–5,5 V of external control. This provides users great flexibility during system design.
RSP-3000 also implements digital control techniques that use a microprocessor to deal with power management. This significantly increases the flexibility of PSU control and reduces the part count at the same time. Besides the standard functions of remote sense, remote ON/OFF control, 12 V (0,1 A) auxiliary output and alarm signal (both relay and TTL outputs), RSP-3000 series use constant current limiting plus delay shutdown as the overload protection. This enables the unit to power capacitive or inductive loads and still provide full protection. If users require a continuous constant current for charging purposes the shut-down mechanism can be cancelled via a jumper. Applications include front-end power systems, factory automation, moving signs, telecommunications, laser-carving machines, IC testing equipment, LCD panel burn-in systems and battery chargers.
The units operate from AC input of 180–264 V.
