SAPICS 31st Annual Conference
February 2009
News
In the run-up to its 31st annual conference and exhibition, SAPICS – The Association for Operations Management of Southern Africa – has started to assemble a line up of presenters with inspiring success stories and enlightening expertise to share with the African supply chain community.
The call for papers is out, and the association is looking for vibrant speakers with knowledge, skills and exciting new concepts or real life case studies to present to the 1000 plus delegates that the conference attracts. “The SAPICS conference is the ideal platform for supply chain professionals to make a valuable contribution to the annual update of our industry’s body of knowledge,” states SAPICS president Ken Titmuss.
The 2009 SAPICS conference, which takes place at Sun City from 12-15 July, will see a programme made up of tracks specialising in various disciplines, including the Theory of Constraints, Lean, Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR) and more. The conference will once again be held in collaboration with the Supply Chain Council.
The theme for this year’s conference is: 'Agility for the Future' and its aim will be to provide delegates with the skills to remain competitive through new thinking and being prepared. “Consumers are becoming more demanding, and businesses have to learn new ways of satisfying and exceeding these expectations in an environment that is ever-changing,” Titmus notes.
To submit a paper for consideration, please contact Cynthia at the Conference Secretariat on +27 (0)11 805 6616 or [email protected]. Up-to the-minute information is continuously posted on the SAPICS website at www.sapics.org.za.
