Swift Heat & Control celebrates 25 years

January 2009 News

In October 2008 Swift Heat & Control celebrated its 25 year existence in business with a well attended function held at its premises in Aeroton. From its beginnings in Fordsburg, with only a few employees, the company has grown to become one of the largest manufacturers of industrial heating elements and temperature sensors in South Africa.

Swift Heat and Control directors (L to R): Richard Mayr (sales and marketing), Clifford Meyersfeld (CEO), Brian Booth (managing director) and Faisal Mayet (internal sales)

Swift Heat has only one manufacturing plant which is based in Aeroton, Johannesburg, and markets its products locally through its sales representatives, whilst in other areas outside the Gauteng and Tshwane regions, appointed resellers assist with the selling function. Currently the company is represented in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Rustenburg regions. It also conducts business in the Klerksdorp, Bloemfontein, Midlands, Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark areas, and exports to most neighbouring countries with plans to expand on this in the years ahead.

Over the last 25 years the company has perfected its production facility by automating where possible and streamlining its processes. This has resulted in higher outputs, with faster delivery times and improved quality. Consistencies have improved dramatically coupled with promised delivery dates, thereby ensuring that its customers needs are met all the time.

The manufacturing plant is the core of the business and as such manufactures and assembles a vast range of products, namely:

* Spiral furnace elements.

* Control boxes.

* Thermocouples and RTDs.

* Thermowells.

* Flanged ducts.

The range of locally manufactured products is complemented by some excellent agencies which include: Omerin; Novus; Vulcan; Gneuss and GC Heat.
