ETEST - on the move

September 2008 News

ETEST has been appointed sole distributor for the JLT range of mobile computers in the southern African region. JLT is a Swedish company, whose MD spent some 25 years in the military. It was here that he saw the need to get the troops a robust and reliable computer which would withstand the rigours of war. Initially this was the target group, but soon spread to commercial areas like industry, forestry, warehousing, logistics, marine, mining, construction, public safety, drilling and agriculture.

The rugged mobile computers offered by JLT are designed to withstand extreme temperature, moisture, shock impacts and vibration. They are built to meet and exceed stringent test requirements.

We offer a wide range of sizes and options. With the four basic models a, 200, 255, 300 and 380 mm screen. Other options include processor speeds up to 1,8 GHz, displays with touch screens up to 1000NIT, IP67 ratings, various boot devices and internal memory.

There is the Field Tablet PC designed from scratch for the most demanding environments. The cast aluminium housing sealed with rubber makes the Tablet able to withstand shocks and jets of water. The ergonomic design with the hand strap and weighing less than two kg make the Field Tablet PC fit like a glove. Besides the design and ruggedness the Field Tablet comes with WLAN and Bluetooth and can be equipped with built in radio independent solutions like GSM, GPRS, UMTS, WCMDA and GPS. The sensitive touch screen with daylight visible configuration secures smooth outdoor usability.

The Fixed Mount Vehicle computers have the same options as the Tablet and boast a client list which includes: US Law Enforcement Agencies; NASA; Volvo; Renault; MAN; Telematics; Scania; Daimler-Chrysler and Rolls Royce.
