Wonderware expands global collaboration system

September 2008 News

Wonderware has expanded its partner ecosystem to merge the offerings of professional solution suppliers with its own products into a seamless offering that will benefit end-users. Mtelligence, Kepware and Software Toolbox have been selected as the first endorsed partners.

The system was introduced in response to customer and partner demands for increased collaboration in the delivery of innovative, yet sustainable realtime operations management solutions for a wide range of vertical industries.

With distributors operating in more than 150 countries and a system integrator (SI) network of more than 3000 members, Wonderware has one of the largest partner ecosystems in the industry, which is now being expanded by this new programme.

The Wonderware Innovation Partner Programme is focused on enhancing the integrated value, scope and capacity of solutions delivered to customers and is designed to facilitate improved collaboration and innovation among partners and Wonderware. Participation in the programme is encouraged across the entire range of Wonderware solution collaborators which includes leading software and hardware companies, solution providers, SIs and strategic alliances with some of the largest IT, ERP and automation players in the industry.

Companies participating in the Wonderware Innovation Partner Programme will use the Wonderware System Platform software as the foundation for the implementation of customer automation and information projects. Wonderware System Platform, which is built on open, industry standards-based ArchestrA technology, provides a common software environment for Wonderware and partner solutions to manage HMI, SCADA, MES and EMI applications in realtime.

The three relationship tiers in the Wonderware Innovation Partner Programme include Registered, Certified and Endorsed, with Endorsed being reserved for the closest business relationships. Endorsed partner offerings are promoted, sold and have first-line support provided by the Wonderware distribution network. Certified and Endorsed members of the new programme also benefit from technology sharing, joint marketing and business development, sales support and Wonderware overall knowledge and expertise in the marketplace.

“Wonderware wants to provide customers and partners with the ability to extend their innovation capabilities,” says Justin Tweedie, MD of Wonderware Southern Africa. “By having partners and customers use this common software platform and toolset, they can accelerate their pace of innovation as well as their ability to differentiate themselves and improve their capability to collaborate and re-use solutions across the extensive Wonderware customer base which stretches across more than 100 000 plants worldwide.”

The first partners that have exceeded Registered and Certified requirements and have been invited to be Wonderware Endorsed Partners include Mtelligence, Kepware and Software Toolbox. Kepware Technologies, a leader in communications for automation, expands the breadth of Wonderware device communications options. In conjunction with Kepware, Software Toolbox was also selected to provide extended support on the Kepware products.

“Wonderware is a world leader in automation and information software and we are extremely honoured to have been chosen for such a critical relationship,” says Roy Kok, – vice president of sales and marketing at Kepware. “Kepware will be working closely with Wonderware to develop a seamless integration to maximise ease of use and deployment of the combined solution.”

An additional resource to the Wonderware Innovation Partner Programme is the recently announced Wonderware Developer Network. This service is an on-line collaboration website available to all partners and customers participating in the Wonderware Customer First support programme.
