Mean Well has introduced the LPH/LPV/LPC Series switching power supplies to cater for the increasing demands of LED lighting, decorative lighting, and general high dust and moisture applications. Using non-PFC design, the units are available in 18/20/35/60 W ranges. Constant voltage mode (LPV series) and constant current mode (LPC series) control options are provided to fulfil differing system design criteria. The units are housed in an IP66 rated housing that protects the electronic components from dust and moisture in harsh locations.

Innovative thermal design ensures the LP family can operate over an ambient temperature range of -30 to +70° using only free air convection cooling. Other standard functions and features include:

* Universal AC input (180–260 V a.c.).

* Surge protection (300 V a.c. for 5 seconds).

* Fully encapsulated plastic case.

* Short circuit, overload and over-voltage protection.

* Fan-less design with no moving parts.

Typical applications include moving signs and backlighting, LED-based decorative and architectural lighting, LED stage and theatre lighting, and LED electronic displays.
