A passive five-way distribution board is available from Phoenix Contact for the economical connection of AS-i-capable sensors and actuators, as well as M8 modules of the S line to the typical AS-i ribbon cable.
Up to 2 A is supplied to the connected AS-i components, via the M12 slots. The contact to the ribbon cables can be loaded with up to 8 A each. Two integrated diagnosis LEDs provide information on the state of the power supply: correctly connected auxiliary and AS-i voltage is indicated in green. Should these be polarity-reversed, this is indicated with a red LED.
As with the active AS-i modules from Phoenix Contact, the distribution board has a wide range of labelling possibilities. To protect against incorrect installation, the distribution board can be mechanically coded together with the matching mounting plate. The ribbon cable can be routed through the device with any desired orientation, giving greater layout flexibility.
