PLC allows integration of different brands

A precision cutting machine employing servo drives and inverters of one make and a PLC and HMI of another make, totally integrated on a bus system, is now possible.

The LG GM7 open protocol PLC solves the problem. The required bus protocol is easily and simply programmed into the PLC, allowing quick and trouble-free communication. The PLC performs control and analog weighing functions while the Lenze servo controller and inverter drives ensure accurate cutting length, paper feed and stacking functions. The various PLC and servo/drive performance parameters as well as the sheet count value and the mass of the cut-paper stack are displayed on a shared HMI with a touchscreen, allowing setpoint adjustment for all parameters.

The LG GM7 PLC provides 12 bit analog resolution on both input and output signals, ensuring accurate mass control. The PLC can also be expanded to accommodate a maximum of 80 digital I/O.
