Productive partnerships

June 2008 News

Elquip Solutions, a local supplier of electrical and automation equipment has embarked on a growth strategy that targets key clients as a means of accessing channels to broader market segments.

“This approach is fundamental to the way Elquip sees its role in the electrical and automation industry. We are first and foremost a supplier of quality equipment and technologies to our customers, in order to offer them the best possible support in their own endeavours,” explains Mike Cronin, owner and manager of Elquip Solutions.

“Many of our customers are engineering companies providing solutions to a broad range of industries. We are trying to find ways to help them gain an edge or advantage, which can then be passed on to their clients. A good example of this strategy can be seen in our relationship with Wise Design, a Pretoria-based company providing solutions for various process applications to the food, chemical and metallurgical industries.

“We initially started our relationship with Wise Design by simply supplying them with equipment. However, we have come to appreciate Wise Design’s commitment to best practices and delivering on client expectations; and in turn, we are pleased to be able to support them wherever possible through our service, reliable supply chains and technical support.

“The value inherent in this type of relationship lies in the fact that, while we hold the sole agency for, and are able to supply key products to our customers, they are in turn able to open up new markets for us,” says Cronin. “This is something that Wise Design is definitely doing on a monthly basis, particularly in terms of our line of Relpol products.”

Wise Design’s William Barwise comments: “For us there is a security and peace of mind in the consolidation of a relationship with a supplier like Elquip Solutions; which can provide the right equipment for the work we do, as well as always doing their best to help us deliver on our commitments.”

Mike Cronin concludes: “We are looking forward to nurturing future relationships with key customers, such as Wise Design, and providing them with the support that they require.”
