Laser light barriers

The A-LAS series of parallel laser barriers, with homogeneous light distribution in round or rectangular cross-section, is used for measuring, positioning and detection of objects starting from sizes as small as 0,01 mm.

Available from Randburg-based ASSTech Instrumentation, these German manufactured products are of compact design, offering a wide range of apertures from 0,2 mm to 30 mm in a choice of 18 styles.

The measuring principle is based on partial covering of the laser beam which leads to a voltage at the analogue output that is proportional to the degree of covering. The laser light beam emitted by the high precision optical unit allows detection of the smallest objects (eg, threads) even in the case of transmitter to receiver separation distances up to 100 metres, depending on the model and aperture.

The high precision apertures in the transmitters ensure optimum performance in the required application, and guarantee homogeneous light distribution of the beam coupled with sharp focus.
