ifm electronic has broadened its range of available switches and mounting accessories for different cylinder types. The range now covers C-slot as well as T-slot mountings, in two and three-wire, ATEX 3D types. The range now includes more adapters to permit users to standardise on one type for all cylinders.
The unique, patented snap-fit mechanism allows the user to fit the switch with only one hand. Even in a vertical slot it stays secure and easy to tighten.
Most cylinder sensors are fixed at the end furthest from the cable, so a cable snag lifts the switch out of the slot. ifm electronic has integrated the fixing at the cable end and moulded the cable into the housing. Moulding the cable in this way gives a seal of IP67 or better.
The solid state cylinder sensors are supplied as three-wire PNP or NPN, or as a two-wire sensor for replacement of reed switches, offering an infinitely longer service life. The units can be supplied with M8 or M12 connectors on a short cable or flying lead.
