Krohne has introduced a new range of vacuum-resistant pressure sensors with overload protection. The hygienic pressure transmitters are available as piezoresistive (PTD 500) or as capacitive (PTC500). The piezoresistive device has a higher temperature limit and is resistant to acids and lye. The capacitive transmitters can measure absolute pressure and are more robust and vacuum stable.
The PTD 500 hygienic pressure transmitter with 4–20 mA output
Typical applications include hydrostatic tank measurements or pressure measurements in pipelines and tanks. Crevice free installation through a variety of EHEDG approved process connections. The transmitters are suitable for use in CIP applications and sterilisation processes.
