The microwave blocked chute detector is available in a long range (100 metre) version and also a smart version with configurable signal gain and setpoint. The device provides non-contact detection of solids through a permeable material like glass, plastic, ceramic, tile, PTFE or rubber. When product interrupts the beam between the transmitter and receiver, a contact output is initiated. The electronics enclosure is manufactured out of aluminium. To protect against material build up the tip of the 304 stainless steel probe is covered with PTFE. The microwave can penetrate and is hence unaffected by buildup on the sensor. This makes the device suitable for dusty environments. The instruments feature easy set-up using dip switches for high or low gain and time delay adjustments.
