Two exhibitions to debut in October
October 2007
News
Two trade exhibitions, Manufacturing Technology International Exhibition (MTI) and the Indian Engineering Exhibition (INDEE), will debut at the Expo Centre, NASREC from 23-26 October 2007.
MTI aims to provide the manufacturing industry with an opportunity to source new products and technologies across the entire range of industrial sectors. The expo has 80% floor space already booked and more than 200 confirmed exhibitors.
"MTI will showcase all aspects of the manufacturing chain, from raw material and input suppliers, through manufacturing support suppliers such as tooling, technology and instrumentation, to output management including storing and picking, logistics, materials handling and packaging," says Pierre Potgieter, MTI business development director.

India has accepted an invitation to participate as a Partner Nation at MTI.
"Partner Nation strategy is aimed at building trade relations, showcasing investment opportunities and introducing top level business people from Partner Nations and South Africa to each other through a series of match-making events," says Potgieter.
"India has booked 4800 m² for the 17th Indian Engineering Exhibition (INDEE), a free-standing expo that will run parallel to MTI," he adds.
INDEE is organised by the Indian Engineering Export Promotion Council and will showcase products and technologies from 41 engineering sectors including castings and forgings, hand and machine tools, industrial machinery, mechanical engineering products, construction machinery, pharmaceutical machinery, ferrous and non-ferrous metal-based engineering items and medical and surgical instruments.
"A sophisticated Business Matchmaking Programme has been incorporated to ensure that MTI and INDEE exhibitors meet face to face with clearly identified, pre-profiled buyers and decision makers," says Potgieter.
According to Potgieter, a comprehensive and relevant database is compiled well in advance and then, through effective profiling of individual exhibitors and visitors, a clear understanding of participants' objectives can be reached, resulting in intelligent matchmaking and one-on-one meeting opportunities.
This ensures that no time is wasted at exhibitions. Exhibitors' and visitors' diaries are determined in advance and managed by the organisers to ensure that the right people meet.
"India will also bring trade and investment missions to MTI and will host workshops during which all aspects of trade between India, South Africa and Africa will be discussed," says Potgieter.
