All market leaders on board for INTERKAMA 2001
February 2001
News
INTERKAMA 2001, the world's No 1 classic automation fair for the process industry, is expanding its exhibit categories to include select aspects of manufacturing automation while providing an ample platform for the crucial sector of IT for industrial applications.
The current list of participants gives every indication that this decision is both in tune with the times and with market needs. Indeed, nearly all the top names will be represented at INTERKAMA 2001 with high-calibre presentations. The list includes the following globally networked companies:
ABB, AMA-Sensorik-Zentrum, Bartec Componenten, Bopp + Reuter, CI Technologies, Endress+Hauser, Hirschmann, Honeywell, Hottinger, Juchheim, Krohne, MTL, Pepperl + Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Profibus, Rittal, Rockwell, Samson, SAP, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Vega Grieshaber, Yokogawa.
Fascinating topics get into high gear
INTERKAMA Innovation Marketplace
INTERKAMA is known for offering visitors maximum information and this year is no exception. However, beginning with INTERKAMA 2001, there will no longer be an ancillary congress in the traditional format - with good reason. Despite its usefulness, one drawback of the congress was that it drew rather too much visitor attention at certain intervals. INTERKAMA has come up with a way to stage a product showcase without forsaking the informational content of a congress: the INTERKAMA Innovation Marketplace.
Right at the centre of the action, in Hall 11, the five-day fair will feature a special forum programme on the automation-relevant topics of e-Business, communications, intelligent field devices plus strategies and methods, with professional speakers covering current issues.
Sponsors of the Marketplace include international associations, organisations, publishing houses and consultants, who will offer an unbiased look at current issues in automation. Presentations will take place in the form of podium discussions, 'poster sessions' and workshops - a lively change from traditional lectures.
Audience participation is strongly encouraged. A supplementary presentation of interest not only to young, up-and-coming talent entitled 'Careers in Engineering' will also be held every day around noon. The INTERKAMA Innovation Marketplace can accommodate some 100 participants at a time and promises to be a major attraction for all visitors.
INTERKAMA will be staged in a two-year cycle beginning with the next event from 24 to 28 September 2001.
