Stainless photosensor switches speedily

The universal and easy to mount OG photoelectric sensors from IFM Electronic offer long sensing ranges. Their cylindrical M18 housing consists completely of high-grade stainless steel making them especially suited for applications in harsh environmental conditions such as those found in conveyor, packaging and automotive industries.
Included in the range are diffuse reflection sensors with sensing ranges from 15 mm up to 300 mm and background suppression. Adaptation to the application is made by means of a potentiometer or a pushbutton. The retro-reflective sensors with polarisation filter provide ranges from 30 mm to 5 m, while the through-beam sensors have a sensing range from 0 to 25 m. All sensors use a visible red light, which simplifies alignment.
The sensors operate at 10-36 V d.c. with an IP67 protection rating and in the -25 to +80°C temperature range. The outputs are protected against short circuit, overload and reverse polarity. A yellow LED indicates the switching status, and the high switching frequency of 1000 Hz (2000 Hz for the retro-reflective sensor) allows reliable detection of fast processes.
