RS422/485 card withstands industrial environments

Advantech's PCI-1601AU and PCI-1601BU 2-port RS422/485 universal PCI communication cards support both 3,3 and 5 V signal systems, and with their 128-byte FIFO, they are suitable for multitasking environments.

The cards can be used to create cost-effective serial communication. Both versions provide 16 kV ESD protection. The surge-protected design of the BU version shields the system from voltage spikes of up to 2500 V d.c. making it suitable for more rugged environments.

A maximum of four cards can be used in one system, providing up to eight ports. The cards are suitable for use in applications such as manufacturing automation, building automation, facility management, environmental monitoring, and traffic management systems.

Full driver support is included for Microsoft Windows 98/2000/ME/XP and with Advantech's bundled ICOM Tools software the user can configure the settings and test the PCI card's performance by analysing the port status.
