Baumer Electric has designed the SpiderScan Series for sophisticated detection and measuring applications because of its light barriers.
SpiderScan light barriers are particularly suitable when objects are to be quickly and accurately measured. Andy Brown, MD of Temperature Controls, says: "As the fastest light barriers world-wide, they have a measuring resolution of 2,5 mm in a maximum measuring field of 1,67 m. In this way, a precise evaluation of object profiles can be achieved at the highest conveying speeds."
In the timber industry stringent requirements are made on the durability of light barriers. For example, protruding parts can frequently and repeatedly strike and scrape the light barrier. However, thanks to the robust metal housing and IP65 level protection, this light barrier is well protected against external influences. A special synchronisation input allows up to three systems to be operated in close proximity without their interfering with one another. The Spiderview parameter setting software permits parameters to be easily defined.
