LED lighting PSU with PFC

Mean Well has announced the release of a new LED lighting product through its South African distributor, Current Automation. The PLN-30 series has a 30 W a.c./d.c. enclosed switching power supply with active power factor correction (PFC). The power source complies with UL 1310 class 2 that guarantees that the output power will not exceed 100 VA or 5 A. The intention is to reduce environmental hazards to technical maintenance staff.

The device is sealed to IP64 making it suitable for indoor and outdoor installations. Efficiency of the PLN-30 series can be as high as 86%. This means that it can be installed with only free air convection cooling across a temperature range of -30 to +50°C.

Standard functions include short circuit, over-load, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection.
