Designed for object recognition in assembly, manufacturing and quality control applications, the new Dualis Image sensor from IFM Electronic is a standalone unit with integrated lighting and evaluation. The orientation-independent contour verification feature allows the sensor to solve presence and position monitoring and sorting tasks.
For demanding applications, the menu-guided PC parameter setting via the Ethernet interface enables adjustment to the application in only a few operating steps. The Ethernet interface also provides remote maintenance with error image and evaluation data memory. A 'quick teach' function allows simple parameter setting via the two pushbutton menu and display.
With its IP 67 industrial housing, the sensor is suitable for use in a -10 to 60°C temperature range and it can be used in applications with operating distances from 50 mm up to 2 m.
LEDs indicate 'ready for operation', Ethernet status, connection and output status indication. The sensor is protected against short circuits and overloads and utilises an infrared, direct illumination light mode.
