New power logger launched

February 2007 Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration

Comtest, the sole authorised distributor of Fluke industrial and electrical test tools in southern Africa, has announced the launch of Fluke's new simple, 3-phase 1735 Power Logger, eliminating the need for the Fluke 433 model in their Power Quality range. This new product provides the optimum functionality for basic power quality testing at a more competitive price.

It is a tool electricians or technicians can use for conducting energy studies and basic power quality logging. The 1735 Power Logger has a colour display, can be set up in seconds and includes flexible current probes. This product logs most electrical power parameters, harmonics and captures voltage events for a 45-day period.

Other features of the 1735 Power Logger:

* Monitors maximum power demand over user-defined averaging periods.

* Proves the benefit of efficiency improvements with energy consumption tests.

* Improves reliability by capturing voltage dips and swells from load switching.

* Measures all three phases and neutral with included four flexible current probes.

* Views graphs and generates reports with included Power Log software.

* Compact, rugged design with IP65 case, 600 V CAT III and two-year warranty.

The Fluke 433 will no longer be available after 30 September 2006. The 43B, 434 and the new 435 and 1735 models are all now available from Comtest.
