Many industrial, low-cost pressure measurement points such as pressure switching in the water, waste, sewerage, power generation and mining applications, can now benefit from the advantages of ceramic technologies - without the high price.
Schneider Electric's Nautilus XMLG pressure transmitters and electronic pressure switches, aside from offering decisive advantages in compactness and reliability, meet the most stringent high mechanical performance requirements of users through their ceramic diaphragms, electromagnetic compatibility affording excellent EMC characteristics, and safety of operation with stainless steel case and parts in contact with the environment.
Says Schneider Electric's Kruben Bennie, product manager for machinery control and low-end control: "the transmitters and pressure switches feature the same case format. The technology is condensed into a very compact form for better integration into the process plant environment.
"Whereas low-cost products typically have metal diaphragms, the advantages of ceramic technology can now be realised without the additional expense. These products have proved excellent results in the repetitive applications they have specifically been designed for."
The pressure transmitters have an analog output of 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V and their sizes are from -1 to 600 bar (-100 kPa to 60 MPa). The electronic pressure switches offer solid-state NC PNP or NPN digital output with factory set switching thresholds and sizes from -1 to 600 bar (-100 kPa to 60 MPa).
