New environmentally friendly lithium ion batttery charger

February 2007 Electrical Power & Protection

MEAN WELL launched the new CG30 series 30 W lithium ion battery charger that fulfils the trend of energy saving and environment protection of the 21st century. Complying with global safety certificates and the 2002/95/EC RoHS requirements of the European Union, the GC30 series have completed the development and safety application and are ready to go to the market.

GC30 series are two-stage battery chargers with universal AC input range of 90~264 V a.c. No load power consumption <1 W, dual-colour LED to indicate the charging status, and the built-in short circuit/overload/overvoltage/overtemperature protections are the main features of these switching type battery chargers. GC30 is especially suitable for charging lithium ion batteries in all kind of end products and the peak current capability allows GC30 to be used for equipment that needs huge start-up current. Incorporating the concept of general power adapter and battery charger, this product can be widely used in household or business applications for which energy saving is the main concern.
