The Eltrotec laser sensors from Atlas Industrial Systems exhibit a high switching frequency (approximately 25 kHz) making them suitable for sensing objects on fast moving conveyors or rapidly moving parts on machinery. They incorporate an integrated, switched output and are packaged as axial, or 90° configurations.
Principle features include a 0 to 10 V analog output, an adjustable switching point, and operation from 12 to 32 V d.c. supply. Connection is made by a 4-pin M12 plug. The laser power (laser class 2) is adjustable, yielding an operating range of up to two metres. Housed in solid aluminium, they include a glass optic with a built-in interference and polarisation filter - making them insensitive to external light. They are certified to IP67 degree of protection.
Typical applications include control of filling, height, gap, diameter, positioning, inspection of threads, edge detection and more. Advantages include their precise and dynamic performance, their integrated switching output (with adjustable threshold) and their ease of alignment (visible laser beam and visible receiver diaphragm).
