The IR/tc-EM sensors measure the temperature of the target in relation to the ambient temperature so climatic conditions do not affect the reliability of readings.
These unique IR sensors are mounted inside the switchgear enclosure and can continuously monitor all key components. The non-contact sensors do not require any electrical power supply and connect to signal interface cards (eight sensors per card). The cards are connected via a 2-wire bus and the signals are fed back to a standard computer via an RS232C interface.
The software enables data logging of all channels (easy trend analysis), as well as two individually settable alarm levels per channel.
The system monitors the integrity of the 2-wire signal bus and will raise the alarm via a relay card if the bus is compromised, or if any channel exceeds either of its set alarm levels.
