MEAN WELL has introduced the 'RSP-1000 series' which is a 1000 W enclosed type switching power supply with power factor correction (PFC) and parallel function. It is designed for the 1U low profile and high wattage applications. Featuring 10,67 W/in³ extremely high power density, the RSP-1000 series can provide full output wattage even at 100 V a.c. input because of its high efficiency design. RSP-1000 also has the built-in trimming function that the output voltage can be adjusted between 40% and 110% rated value by adding an external voltage source or resistors. This can provide users great flexibility in the design of their end system.
Besides the standard functions of remote sense, remote ON/OFF control, 5 V/0,5 A auxiliary output, and DC OK signal, RSP-1000 series uses constant current limiting as the over load protection which will be good for applications of capacitive or inductive loads. If you need more power, the built-in active current sharing function can greatly fulfil your high wattage demands that up to three units can be connected in parallel. Because of the miniature design, only a very small space in your system will be occupied compared to many products with similar wattage in the market. Applications include front-end power system, factory automation, instrumentation, moving sign, telecom/datacom, where space is limited and high efficiency is required.
Additional features and main specifications of the RSP-1000 series include:
* Universal AC input/full range.
* Built-in active PFC circuit compliance to EN61000-3-2.
* Short circuit, overload, over-voltage, over-temperature protection.
* Built-in remote ON/OFF control and remote sense.
