Citect launches new benchmarking service

October 2006 News Access Control & Identity Management Integrated Solutions

Citect, one of the world's largest, realtime intelligence software companies, announced the launch of a new benchmarking service. This service is designed to support corporate performance benchmarking through visually sharing key performance indicators (KPIs) between corporate and plant managers. Meta allows corporate and plant managers to benchmark a balanced range of KPIs across plants, divisions and countries, thereby leveraging best practices and improving capital allocation throughout the organisation.

Meta is Citect's response to the need for corporate and plant managers to have immediate access to the accurate information necessary to guide the decision-making process, enabling organisations to become more proactive. Meta's benchmarking capability is crucial to sharing best practices among the various plants and corporate levels, thereby fostering and leveraging continuous improvement initiatives. With corporations operating on a global scale, at lightning speed with increasing competition, success depends on having a solid understanding of the industry. In response, Meta will soon offer industry benchmarking services to its members.

Citect recently published a case study introducing how Meta met the need to supply a single version solution that can monitor plant and corporate KPIs from multiple sites, allowing for better decision making and a smoother information process. Simplot Australia, one of the country's largest food manufacturers, uses Meta to create a controlled environment for capturing KPIs and other information valuable to plant performance and their continuous improvement programmes. Meta has allowed a quick and easy visual representation of the truth, providing opportunities company-wide for employees to make relative decisions about overall improvement in a timely manner.

Kurt Lovell, Citect's newly appointed global director for Meta, states that: "Meta provides users a tremendous advantage as an economical, user-friendly tool for comparing performance within the company. As a secure online service hosted by Citect, Meta is an exceptionally easy to use, single yet shared reporting tool with no installation, maintenance or upgrade costs."
