The new inductive sensors have been designed and developed by the Swiss company, Baumer Electric, for rugged applications and they have been made so that they are tough enough to operate under such conditions.
It is currently one of the smallest inductive sensors with IP69K protection class full metal housing. From the outset, they were designed for use in harsh and demanding industrial applications. Thanks to an operating temperature range of -25°C to +100°C and a housing made of V4A stainless steel, these sensors can be employed for food processing applications, in cutting oil environments as well as in any other environments subject to extreme contamination levels. They are even able to withstand environments subject to high EMI levels without damage. The necessary protection is provided not only by the full metal housing with an active surface made of stainless steel, but also increased interference resistance in accordance with EN610000-6-2.
Despite their compact design, the inductive sensors can operate over sensing distances of up to 2 mm, allowing for quasi flush installations. The two miniature DuroProx sensors with vibration resistant plug-in connections are available in M8 x 1 x 46 mm and 6,5 x 46 mm installation sizes.
